Kurzbeschreibung

Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU München) wanted to enhance staff, student and partner collaboration by creating a Web-based platform that would provide secure access to documents, blogs, wikis and many other Web 2.0 tools, as well as workflows to help manage administrative processes. By building the solution on Novell Vibe OnPrem, the University gained a highly flexible and extensible solution that aligns with its open source strategy.

„The combination of Novell Vibe OnPrem with VMware HA gives us a highly scalable and resilient platform,“ said Dr. Degenhardt. „We have approximately 9,000 active and regular users at the moment, and numbers are growing all the time. We opened our installation and have an account self registration for more than 30,000 eligible users who have regular contact with the Faculty’s staff and services. If the solution is adopted across the whole university, the total potential user-base is about 60,000 people, so it’s important to have an infrastructure that is capable of supporting them.“
